How to choose a Survival Knife

With literally thousands of survival knives on the market today it can be very difficult to choose the correct knife for your needs. Many people think of the Rambo knife when they think of survival knives, these knives are very large and cumbersome and are just not practical.
When looking for a survival knife one main factor is the overall size and weight. This is something you will be packing with you either out hunting or camping and you don't want it to be a to large and heavy.
A good overall blade length would be 4" to 6". Thickness of 5/32" to 8/32". You want something that will be easy to control. Also if your in the market for a fixed blade knife, make sure it is full tang. Full tang blades are one piece that continue into the handle. These knives are very strong.
